This detector therefore does not say anything about which gas it detects, but whether there is a change in the gas composition.
But often it is also more than sufficient. If you search for leaks at a gas tank, you know which gas it is, you know its conductivity.
The detector then tells if there are deviations from the air’s conductivity, if there are, propane is present. In many cases, you know which gas MAY be present, you want to know if there is anything other than air present.
